Families can now actively participate by helping our team of volunteers at the area of Lakonikos' Bay during July and August. They participate in selected activities depending on the age of the children. However, both parents and children become part of the voluntary team.
KORONI project
The jewel of the Gulf of Messenia, as Koroni is often called, is situated at the southwest part of the gulf. The ARCHELON Association is conducting a field research project in Koroni since 1995 that is staffed by volunteers. The project aims to register and protect the nests of Caretta Caretta sea turtles, and at the same time to inform and raise awareness in the local community and amongst the visitors.
The project will begin on June 5th 2013, end on September 15th 2013 and is placed at Camping Koroni (http://www.koronicamping.com), a family-run business with shared and well taken care of facilities(WC, shower, kitchen equipped with the basic appliances, washing machine for clothes, Wi-Fi internet, tavern, cafeteria, pool, sports facilities) and a very warm, friendly ambiance. The camping's location offers an exclusive panoramic view of Koroni.
